Alan is a qualified corporate lawyer and former CEO of Cardiff City Football Club. He set up TVS Education in 2011 and brings a breadth of business experience combined with a wider understanding of working within a football and community background. Alan has overall responsibility for the development and management of the relationship with TVS partners.
David is a Senior Education Manager with extensive experience of management within the education sector at a senior level. He has been with TVS for 3 years and has 10 years education management practice in both school and college settings. David also has experience of Higher Education Grade 1 provision and strategic development, curriculum design, development, delivery and evaluation across a number of academic levels. He holds a Master’s Degree in Education and Management and a fellow of both the Institute of Leadership & Management, and Society for Education and Training (previously IFL). Previous roles held by David include Senior Executive Officer and training roles as a Commissioned Officer with the Royal Air Force, including leadership, management and education training.
David possesses an extensive knowledge of funding rules and rationale, contracts, awarding body policies and procedures and Ofsted & Estyn preparation and implementation of actions.
This position has been held by Kerry for 2 years and is a qualified manager and teacher within the Further Education sector. Kerry has over 16 years’ experience of development, management and delivery within the Further Education sector. The main responsibilities covered by her are to develop systems and processes which ensure the company is compliant with ESFA expectations. In particular, to ensure that TVS remains on the Skills Funding Agencies (SFA) Register of Training Providers and The Register of Apprenticeship Providers. Kerry also compiles tenders for prime ESFA contracts, guaranteeing the expansion of the company’s educational provision, with a particular focus on Traineeships and Apprenticeships within the sports industry.
Hannah has worked with TVS for 3 years and is a qualified teacher with a wealth of experience within this role being a qualified Pearson Standards Verifier for the Level 1-3 suite of Sports Programmes and is a Pearson Centre Quality Reviewer. Appointed to act as the senior lead for quality assurance, overseeing all internal quality standard processes for the provision which covers BTEC and Functional Skills Programmes. Hannah is also responsible for managing the team of four Area Internal Verifiers.
Hannah Loves travelling, adventure and getting political. If she’s not cooking for friends at home you will find her running along a beach, SUPing in the sea or walking her dogs. Hannah’s moto is to work hard and play harder; she has a bucket list to get through that’s as long as her arm and wants to enjoy life to its fullest, and hopes her friends and family (dogs too) are along for the ride!
Gareth has held this position for 2 years and is a qualified manager and teacher within the Secondary Education sector and is a previous Department Head. He has over 30 years experience of development, management and delivery within the Secondary Education sector in both Physical Education and IT. The main responsibilities covered by Gareth are to manage existing IT systems as well as develop new ones, provide training and support for tutors and learners for the VLE platform, and offer guidance on a day to day basis both within the company and to our partner school, colleges and clubs.
Michelle has been a qualified manager for 3 years and is educated to Degree level having gained a BSc in Sports Studies. She has over 8 years experience of development, management and delivery within the education sector and possesses an ILM Level 5 Qualification in Management and Leadership. Previous roles held by Michelle include Communications Information Specialist and was responsible for on-board ship communications with the Royal Navy and a Sports Development Officer that was responsible for delivering BTEC and PE lessons within secondary schools. The main responsibilities covered by Michelle’s role are to develop BTEC resources and provide curriculum support for TVS provision that is delivered nationally within professional football clubs.
Michelle is a highly active individual that loves general fitness, doing endless lengths in a swimming pool and enjoys running in charity events such as 10k and half marathons! She also plays netball at a high level having previously represented at County level and currently plays for a local club in the Premier Division of the Cardiff & District League.
Dale has been with TVS for the past 18 months and is education to Degree level having gained a BA (hons) KS2/3 in Physical Education. He has 15 years experience in the Education system with previous roles as Head of Physical Education, Director of Sport and County Advisor for physical education examination performance (Staffordshire LEA). The responsibilities of Dale’s role include ensuring the regional educational provision is set up and runs smoothly from the initial stages of planning, to the management of teach staff and learner outcomes.
Dale is an ex semi-professional footballer, an avid Wolverhampton Wanderers fan and a lover of all things football. Dale frequently gets mistaken for Pep Guardiola; an accurate doppelgänger in our eyes!
Martin, a Grade 1 teacher, has held the position of the Regional Programme Manager in the South for 3 years and has a BSc (Hons) in Sport Science and PCE Qualifications. Martin has over 10 years experience of teaching, coaching and managerial practice including course management of BTEC courses Level 1-4, Fd. Degree in Sports Coaching, NVQs in Sport and Leisure He also holds NCFE Qualifications and Sports Leaders Awards across a broad range of awarding bodies. The responsibilities of his role including ensuring the regional education provision is set up and runs smoothly, from the initial stages to the management of planning to the management of teaching staff and educational outcomes.
Steve is Director of LEAD Education a North East based training organisation offering high quality education & development courses incorporating leadership and adventure sport programmes. Steve has a BSc (Hons) in Outdoor Sport & Physical Education, a Certificate in Further Education and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. Steve was Head of PE in a special educational needs school in Sunderland for 5 years before moving to TVS where he is the regional programme consultant for the North East, Yorkshire and Lincolnshire ensuring the regional educational provision is set up and runs smoothly, from the initial stages of planning to the management of teaching staff and educational outcomes.
Jack was appointed this year and has a BSc (Hons) in Sports Development and brings an array of marketing expertise to the role, which is enriched by sporting experience that has been gained from the International stage of rugby. The responsibilities of Jack’s role are to enhance the marketing presence and brand exposure of TVS, providing marketing support and advice to our partners and has a pivotal role in the recruitment of students for the provision in Wales. Alongside this, website content, CMS management, social media, recruitment campaigns, promotional video’s, photo and graphic design content all falls under the duty of Jack’s role.
Jack has a keen interest in photography and spends a fair amount of time outdoors (except when it’s raining) and expanding the list of countries he’s visited when possible. He’s a self-taught photographer and editor that enjoys playing around with the Adobe Suite, which ties in nicely to his current role! In contrast, Jack plays rugby for Wales Deaf Rugby Union and is due to participate in the Deaf 7’s World Cup in Australia, April 2018 and has a successful past in athletics representing locally and at county level.
Jordan has worked with TVS for 3 years and is currently undertaking a BSc (Hons) Degree in Computing and IT. The main responsibilities covered by Jordan are to source, develop and administer new and existing technology and software, working alongside the VLE & Network Manager to ensure that all company IT systems are accessible and fully operational. Jordan also manages administration information ensuring both staff and learner records are accurate and up to date. This includes learner registration and certification for both BTEC and Functional Skills Programmes. Other responsibilities include working with the Finance Director to raise and track company invoices.
Jordan has two dogs and loves taking the time out to take them on long walks. He’s an enthusiast in all things Tech and IT and uses his spare time to play video games and when he’s putting down the controller, he’s picking up a book to read!
Laura is a qualified teacher having completed her PGCE (PCET) at Cardiff University. She holds a Degree in Mathematics and Sports Science as well as a Master’s Degree in Education, and is also studying towards a Level 5 qualification in Leadership & Management. The main responsibilities covered by Laura are to manage and support the quality assurance process of delivery of our BTEC and Functional Skills Qualifications in Wales as part of her Lead Area Internal Verifier role. Laura also works as a Standards Verifier for the Pearson examination board.
Laura is a qualified basketball coach and is currently assistant coach for the Welsh U12 girls team. Alongside coaching, she also plays basketball for the Cardiff Met Archers Basketball Club in the WBBL and has been in the Welsh basketball squad for 14 years.
Heidi has worked here for 2 years and is an OSCAR qualified Lead Internal Verifier. She’s educated to Degree level having gained a BSc Hons in Childhood and Youth Studies, as well as QCF Level 3 in Education with children and PETALS, and is also currently working towards a Level 5 in Leadership and Management. The main responsibilities covered by Heidi are to manage, support and quality assure the assessment decision work of tutors that delivery the BTEC and Functional Skills qualification off-sire, and leads in the verification of NCFE Functional Skills Programmes.
Heidi is a fitness enthusiast who enjoys participating in general fitness. She’s a very keen runner who frequently partakes in Charity Half Marathon’s and 10k’s. Alongside all of this, Heidi still finds the time to play for her local netball team in the Cardiff & District League.
Neil is a qualified PE teacher (Secondary) and holds a Master’s Degree in Coaching Science (Merit). The main responsibilities covered by Neil are to manage, support and quality assure the assessment decision work of tutors that delivery the BTEC and Functional Skills qualification off-site. Following three years teaching in Further Education, Neil returned to Cardiff and is now Lead Internal Verifier for the North Area at TVS and has held this position for two years. He is continuing his professional development with a level 5 in Leadership and Management. Previous to teaching, Neil coached goalkeepers at Cardiff City Academy as a former professional player himself and a Level 3 Coach (UEFA B License).
